The story behind the name

You shouldn’t have to dress the part to be part of it.

I’m Kieran, a 3 handicap golf nerd and the creator behind GolfHipster. I started playing golf at 14, swapping the skatepark for the golf course. I loved the game, but didn’t always feel at home in the uniform that came with it.

After stepping away, I found golf again in Devon. This time, on my own terms. GolfHipster grew out of that feeling: keeping the good bits of golf and making more people feel they belong.

My background in sport and education shapes what I do. I believe golf can support wellbeing, build community and make people feel they belong. Based in Plymouth, I create golf content across Devon, Cornwall and the South West, and travel for projects across the UK and beyond.
